Given that the directions are not to wash it in a machine, I have to wonder what that chemical is and what it's doing to the cat. I can't keep it where it needs to live because of the cat and I'm out of closet space, so this is a failure of a purchase for this household.I bought this hamper for 4 boys between 11-15 years old. It can hold a lot of clothes and fits into small spaces. Able to be carried to and from the wash without trouble. I particularly like that it does not have wiring in the middle to hold its shape. Those kinds always break quickly in my house. When my kids toss everything in their rooms onto the basket, it just collapses nicely. Definitely recommend for messy and rough teens.We purchased two at first for the kids and quickly realize that the amount of space is amazing. The handles are sturdy and the big rings give you more grip to lift it (we have to use a laundry mat so this was important). When there’s nothing in it, it is a little sloppy but as soon as you put several pieces of clothes in it it stands upright just fineThis was for my daughter who is handicapped and loves red.
